USA batter Aaron Jones played a match-winning knock of 94 runs, remaining unbeaten guiding his team to the finishing line. Jones has recorded his name in the list of highest runs scored by a debutant in T20 World Cup. By doing so, Jones joined an elite list of batsmen.
West Indian batter Chris Gayle holds the record of most runs scored on T20 World Cup debut. The veteran is also the only batter to score a century on T20 WC debut, with 117 runs. The southpaw scored 117 runs off just 57 balls against South Africa in the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup in 2007.
