WESTON, Wis. (WSAW) – While state track and field closed its doors, Saturday presented a big day for regional girls soccer.
D.C. Everest and Lakeland defend their turf in their respective victories. Jenna Baumann and the Evergreens took home a 2-1 win over Eau Claire Memorial while the T-Birds barely escaped a 1-0 GNC affair over Rhinelander. Meanwhile, Northland Pines was on the wrong side of a 1-0 final score, losing to McDonnell/Regis.
Wisconsin Rapids and Marshfield were also shut out, with the Red Raiders losing 2-0 to Hudson and the Tigers falling to River Falls 1-0. Assumption vs. Adams-Friendship had 11 combined goals, but the Royals would be taken down by the Green Devils in a 6-5 nail-biter.
