Black Stars defender Alexander Djiku and winger Osman Bukari were absent on Day One of the team’s training session as Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team prepares to play in the latest round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana take on Mali on June 6 in Bamako and Central African Republic (CAR) on June 10 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi; Ghana rank fourth in the six team Group I standings.
Fenerbache player Djiku and Bukari, who recently signed for Austin Football Club in the Major League Soccer (MLS), weren’t present for the Stars maiden training session held at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon.
Bukari reportedly missed the session due to the move from Red Star Belgrade to the American side on Thursday, May 30 after winning back to back Serbian Cup and Serbian League titles.
Djiku’s absence was linked to a late arrival to camp; Djiku missed out on winning the Turkish Super League title to archrival Galatasaray.
