WATCH: Video shows chaotic aftermath of shooting that claimed life of former local football star – WWSB

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Video taken near the scene of a fatal shooting in Sarasota, shows the chaos of people running for cover as shots ring out.
The video was filmed in Tallywood Centre on Saturday. The parking lot was full of people, when you can see a visible reaction to gunshots. People duck behind vehicles or run from the scene.
That shooting claimed the life of Tommie Battie IV. Tommie was a former football player for Braden River High School. Tommie’s brother, Brian, who plays football at Auburn University, was also shot.
According to Hugh Freeze, the head coach at Auburn University, Brian is currently on a ventilator. Four other victims, including Brian, were transported to the hospital. On Wednesday, Darryl Brookins turned himself into Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, according to his attorney.
Brookins has been charged with murder, attempted murder, and as a felon in possession of a firearm.
The godparents of Brian and Tommie have started a Gofundme to help with the cost of medical expenses and funeral costs.
