Toni Kroos will bid farewell to the pitch after playing in Euro 2024, a fact that prompted FIFA to recall one of his best goals as an international with Germany: his last-minute strike against Sweden during the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
In the 90’+5 minute, the midfielder struck the ball to clear the barrier and beat the Swedish goalkeeper, giving the German team a chance to reach the final matchday of the group stage with hopes of advancing.
However, in their third match, South Korea defeated Germany, handing them their second loss after falling to Mexico in their opener, and eliminating the multi-time world champions in the group stage.
