Pakistan likely to announce T20 World Cup squad next week
All teams except Pakistan have announced their squads
LAHORE (Web Desk) – Pakistan Cricket Board is still undecided over the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 as deadline draws closer.
The selections and management are deliberating to finalise the squad as they are facing extra ordinary situation to pick 15 players out of current 18-member team.
Reports said the board would announce the squad after Pakistan’s first T20I match against England scheduled for May 22. The deadline for announcement of squads is May 24.
It is recalled that Haris Rauf, Usman Khan and Salman Ali Agha did not get a chance to play in Ireland series.
Hasan Ali, who was included in the squad as backup of Haris Rauf, was given a chance to play in a match against Ireland.
The board is likely to select Usman Khan, Salman Agha and Hasan Ali as travelling reserves.
Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, England, India, Ireland, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Oman, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Uganda, United States and West Indies have announced their squads for the mega cricket event.
The ninth edition of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, which will be a 20-team event, will take place in the USA and West Indies from 1 to 29 June, 2024.
