15 area teams reach state playoffs for women's soccer – The Charlotte Weekly

CHAPEL HILL – Fifteen teams from southern Mecklenburg and western Union counties have reached the N.C. High School Athletic Association’s 2024 Women’s Soccer Playoff Brackets.
The first round will be played May 13, followed by the second round on May 16, the third round on May 20, the fourth round on May 23 and the Regional Championships on May 28. The first five rounds will be played at the higher seed. Championship matches will be played May 31 and June 1 at the Matthews Sportsplex.
Below are first-round matchups for each team: 
 
4A Teams
• No. 4 Ardrey Kell takes on No. 29 East Mecklenburg. The winner takes on No. 13 Charlotte Catholic or No. 20 Page.
• No. 13 Charlotte Catholic takes on No. 20 Page. The winner takes on No. 4 Ardrey Kell or No. 29 East Mecklenburg. 
• No. 14 Cuthbertson takes on No. 19 Lake Norman. The winner takes on No. 3 West Forsyth or No. 30 Davie County. 
• No. 29 East Mecklenburg takes on No. 4 Ardrey Kell. The winner takes on No. 13 Charlotte Catholic or No. 20 Page.
• No. 6 Marvin Ridge takes on No. 27 Alexander Central. The winner takes on No. 11 T.C. Roberson or No. 22 Grimsley.
• No. 26 Myers Park takes on No. 7 Northwest Guilford. The winner takes on No. 10 Weddington and No. 23 R.J. Reynolds. 
• No. 31 Porter Ridge takes on No. 2 Hough. The winner takes on No. 15 East Forsyth and No. 18 Sun Valley.
• No. 9 Providence takes on No. 24 Northern Guilford.The winner takes on No. 8 Mooresville or No. 25 Hickory Ridge.
• No. 17 South Mecklenburg takes on No.16 Cox Mill. The winner takes on No. 1 Watauga or No. 32 Ragsdale. 
• No. 18 Sun Valley takes on No. 15 East Forsyth. The winner takes on No. 2 Hough and No. 31 Porter Ridge. 
• No. 10 Weddington takes on No. 23 R.J. Reynolds. The winner takes on No. 7 Northwest Guilford and No. 26 Myers Park. 
 
3A Teams
• No. 9 Piedmont takes on No. 24 North Iredell. The winner takes on No. 8 Atkins and No. 25 Foard.
 
2A Teams
• No. 20 Forest Hills takes on No. 13 Providence Grove. The winner takes on No. 4 West Davidson and No. 29 Trinity.
 
1A Teams
• No. 10 Queens Grant takes on No. 23 Starmount. The winner takes on No. 7 Thomas Jefferson or No. 26 Cherokee. 
• No. 8 Union Academy takes on No. 25 Bethany Community. The winner takes on No. 9 NCSSM (Morganton) or No. 24 Avery County.
