NFL Draft recap
With head coach Deion Sanders at the helm, the Colorado Buffaloes have become the most talked-about and dissected program in college football. When Coach Prime took over in Boulder following the 2022 season, the Buffs were coming off a 1-11 season and were a perennial doormat at the Power-5 level. While his first season leading the program failed to yield the results he was looking for in the win/loss column, there is no doubting that Sanders put Colorado football back on the college football map. Sanders built an almost entirely new Colorado football roster through the Transfer Portal in his debut season, and has picked up right where he left off heading into year two.
While he may not be landing players that are of the caliber of Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders, Coach Prime has still managed to attract plenty of Colorado football recruits in his second attempt at rebuilding the Colorado football roster. While the window to enter the portal has closed, Sanders still has the ability to add several more players who have already entered the portal before the 2024 season kicks off. If you love Coach Prime and the Buffs, or just want the latest roster updates and college football transfer portal news, be sure to see what the proven team of insiders are saying at BuffStampede.com, the 247Sports affiliate that covers the Colorado Buffaloes.

One of the more notable departures from the Colorado football roster is cornerback Cormani McClain. The former five-star recruit played in nine games for the Buffaloes last season, starting in four. He recorded 13 total tackles including six unassisted, one tackle for loss and two pass breakups.
He has a rare blend of size, length and speed, but he wasn’t the immediate star most assumed he would be coming out of high school. McClain’s departure leaves depth concerns in Colorado’s secondary. That’s a big reason why the Buffaloes have signed corners like RJ Johnson (Arkansas) and DJ McKinney (Oklahoma State) this offseason. It’s no secret that Colorado struggled to keep Shedeur Sanders upright down the stretch of the 2023 season. In fact, Sanders was the most-sacked quarterback in all of college football a season ago. Knowing this, it should come as no surprise that priority No. 1 for the Buffs this offseason was rebuilding the team’s offensive line.
With the departure of tackle Savion Washington, Colorado is now in line to have a new group of starters on its offensive line. One of the most notable additions is five-star offensive tackle signee Jordan Seaton. The IMG Academy (FL) product is likely going to be the Buffs’ starting left tackle when they take on North Dakota State in their season-opener. Seaton was the fifth five-star prospect ever to sign with Colorado out of high school. Join BuffStampede.com to get the latest on all of Colorado’s football roster additions
