The FIFA World Cup 2026 Miami Host Committee has unveiled its esteemed leadership team, poised to spearhead the organization of the world’s most prominent sporting extravaganza.
Led by global business luminary Lisa Lutoff-Perlo as CEO & President, the committee aims to craft an enduring legacy in South Florida, where the event will unfold.
Lutoff-Perlo, renowned for her distinguished career in hospitality spanning four decades, assumes the helm as one of the few former CEOs from outside the sports realm to lead a FIFA World Cup 2026 Host Committee. With a focus on fostering robust collaboration between South Florida’s public and private sectors, Lutoff-Perlo and her team endeavor to host up to 600,000 spectators in the summer of 2026, whether at the iconic Miami Stadium (Hard Rock Stadium) or at vibrant fan zones and watch parties across the region.
Rodney Barreto, chairman and CEO of the Barreto Group and co-chair of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Miami Host Committee, lauded Lutoff-Perlo’s selection, emphasizing her global perspective, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to delivering an unparalleled experience for fans while maximizing economic benefits for the region.
Bringing a wealth of experience to her new role, Lutoff-Perlo served as CEO of Celebrity Cruises, where she steered the brand to unprecedented growth and redefined the luxury cruise experience. A South Florida resident and esteemed community leader, Lutoff-Perlo’s appointment underscores her dedication to leveraging the FIFA World Cup 2026 as a catalyst for positive social and economic transformation.
Expressing her enthusiasm for the monumental task ahead, Lutoff-Perlo emphasized the importance of innovation, inclusivity, and community engagement in shaping an exceptional World Cup experience. She underscored her commitment to collaborating with stakeholders to position Miami as the premier host city, instilling a sense of pride throughout the region.
Joining Lutoff-Perlo in this endeavor are Janelle Prieto, appointed as Chief Marketing and Community Officer, and Ray Martinez, assuming the role of Chief Operating Officer. Prieto, a Miami native, brings extensive marketing and PR expertise, having previously served in leadership roles for major events, including Super Bowl LIV and the Miami Super Bowl Committee.
Martinez, with over 35 years of law enforcement experience, including tenure as Miami Beach chief of police, adds invaluable insights into security and operational logistics.
Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and NBCUniversal’s Beau Ferrari expressed confidence in the leadership team’s ability to deliver a world-class event that showcases South Florida’s vibrant culture and hospitality.
The FIFA World Cup 2026, jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, promises to be a landmark sporting spectacle, uniting nations and celebrating the universal appeal of football on a global stage.
