26 Katy ISD soccer players named All-State – Katy Times


A number of Katy ISD players were named to both the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches Class 6A All-State and All-Region team, led by Seven Lakes, which sent both their boys and girls teams to the state tournament, with the boys team winning a state title.

A number of Katy ISD players were named to both the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches Class 6A All-State and All-Region team, led by Seven Lakes, which sent both their boys and girls teams to the state tournament, with the boys team winning a state title.
The Spartans boys led the way, having four players named to the all-state team and three named to the first team.
Ben Aviles Vera was named first team all state as a goalkeeper, while Aidan Morrison took first team all-state honors in midfield. Kortay Koc joined them as a first team all-state selection at forward and Noa Stasic was named second team all-state at forward.
Cinco Ranch’s Noah Machart was named honorable mention all-state at goalkeeper and Ossian Elgstrom was named to the first team at defender. Jordan’s Chris Segura was also named all-state as a defender to the second team, while Tompkins’ Adetola Fasade earned honorable mention all-state at defender. Jordan’s Marcelo Ojeda was named second team all-state in midfield and Cinco Ranch’s Andres Riera garnered honorable mention all-state honors at forward.
Tompkins’ keeper Alonso Basterra earned second team all-region honors, Cinco Ranch’s Adrian Correa was a first team all-region selection in midfield and was joined in midfield by Cesar Garcia of Paetow, who was a second team selection, Ryan Armijo of Jordan, who was a second team selection and Tompkins’ Brayden Lehner, who was honorable mention all-region. Jordan’s Aiden Erol was named first team all region at forward and was joined by Tompkins’ Roman Ryabchenko who was also a first team all-region selection.
On the girls side, Seven Lakes had two girls named all-state to lead the way and both were defenders, as Kennedy Reed and Olivia Orellana garnered first and second team all-state honors respectively. Tompkins’ Rhegan Coombs joined them as an all-state selection, earning first team honors in midfield.
Jordans’ Lilah Katz was named first team all-region and was joined by Audrina Johnson on defense, as the Tompkins sophomore was named honorable mention. Seven Lakes’ Wagoner Towsen was named first team all-region in midfield along with Jordan’s Ella Bizzell and Madison Lambert, who both garnered honorable mention honors and Tompkins’ Naomi Medeiros was named second team all-region at forward.
Seven Lakes coaches were also rewarded for their efforts this season. Seven Lakes boys head coach Jimmy Krueger and assistant coach Andrew Hackney were named the Region III-6A head coach and assistant coach of the year while Seven Lakes girls head coach Kaitlyn Eidson was named the Region III-6A girls coach of the year.
