Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo has given his thoughts on how the Super Eagles could still make it to the FIFA World Cup next year despite what seems an almost impossible mission.
The Kasimpasa defender, who is currently recovering from a knee injury, has stated that all hands need to be on deck for the Super Eagles to make it to the World Cup to be hosted by USA, Canada and Mexico.
“I strongly believe we can win those games and qualify.. I would say early preparation will make us achieve it,” he said
From the players, the NFF, we have to start thinking about the games, put our focus on these games and prepare early.
“If it is an away game we need officials to go there early, few days before to make sure everything is organized.
“If everyone does their jobs and we go there with high spirits and fitness from our clubs, we will totally achieve and win our games.”
Omeruo also gave his full support to new coach Eric Chelle, stating he has “something” to give to the team;
“Judging from the manager and the way the Malians played, I saw a team that were organized, and I think he has something to give to the team.”
“With the talents we have, he wouldn’t have any problem to make us play the way he wants us to play.
“Like Wilfred said, kudos to Eguavoen; when he took over our confidence was low, and now we’ve got our confidence back.
“When we’re at our best no country will stand us, and I think we have a good chance of qualifying.”
