Rahul Dravid Birthday: Rahul Dravid, a former India captain and head coach is celebrating his birthday today (January 11, 2025) as he turns 52.
BCCI took to X and extended their wishes to the batting legend, who made a name for himself with an incredible defence and rock-solid technique that earned him consistent runs, especially in Test cricket.

Dravid is the fourth-highest run-getter in Test cricket history with 13288 runs to his name at an average of 52.31. He smashed 36 centuries and 63 half-centuries throughout his stellar career.
The legendary batter also had 10889 ODI runs to his name, the fifth most for the national team in the format.
Dravid’s former teammate Harbhajan Singh also had a special message for ‘The Wall’, calling him an “epitome of discipline and commitment”.

He has also represented RCB (2008-2010) and Rajasthan Royals (2011-13) during his IPL career. In 89 IPL matches, he scored 2,174 runs at an average of 28.23. He has 11 fifties under his belt in IPL and has scored his runs at a strike rate of 115.52.
After a monumental career as a player, Dravid took up a new role in coaching and achieved enormous success, leading the junior side to the ICC U19 World Cup title in 2018.
He also led the senior team to the T20 World Cup 2024 title win. As the head coach of the Indian team, the combination of Dravid and skipper Rohit Sharma ended the team’s 11-year-long wait for an ICC trophy.
Dravid also guided the Indian team to the finals of the ICC World Test Championship 2023 and ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, with the latter resulting in a heartbreaking loss to Australia after a dominating 10-match streak.
Dravid played a key role in the emergence of Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan, Sarfaraz Khan, Shubman Gill, Arshdeep Singh, Abhishek Sharma, Washington Sundar as big names in Indian cricket as all of them were groomed under his tenure as U19 coach.
