The first-ever Kho Kho World Cup is set to begin on January 13, 2025, at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi. This tournament is a historic moment for the sport, as Kho Kho, which has its roots in India, will take center stage on a global platform.

The event will run until January 19, featuring both men’s and women’s competitions, and aims to make Kho Kho an internationally recognized sport. A total of 39 nations, including host India, will compete in this inaugural championship.
The opening ceremony on January 13 will be followed by the first men’s match, where India will face Nepal. In the women’s category, England will take on Australia in the opening game, while India will begin their campaign against South Korea on the same day.

The men’s competition has four groups, with four teams in each group. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the knockout stage, starting with the quarterfinals.
In the women’s category, there are also four groups, but Group D has five teams. The top two teams from all groups will advance to the quarterfinals. Both tournaments will follow a similar structure, culminating in the finals on January 19.
