SAN JOSE, CA — Taylor Huff is headed to California to begin her professional soccer career.
On Thursday, Bay Football Club out of San Jose, California announced the signing of the 2020 Madison product. Bay FC is a professional soccer franchise representing the Bay Area in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).

A three-time college All-American at Florida State and Tennessee, Huff is signed through the 2027 season with an option for 2028. She was a four-time All-American high school player at Madison and was named Ohio’s Ms. Soccer in 2020 when she led her team to the first Ohio High School Athletic Association state championship in program history.
“Taylor is a dynamic midfielder who has consistently excelled at every level of the game,” said Bay FC Head Coach Albertin Montoya in a press release. “Her ability to impact matches on both sides of the ball is truly unique, and her leadership and competitive spirit were pivotal in leading Florida State to a championship in 2023. Taylor embodies the values, soccer IQ, and relentless drive we strive for at Bay FC and are excited to see the energy and excellence she will bring to our team.”
In college, Huff had a stellar career that peaked when she helped Florida State win the 2023 NCAA College Cup. Huff played at Tennessee from 2021-22 where she scored 15 goals and added 12 assists in 41 games. She was named the 2021 Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year and was a first team All-SEC player and third team All-American as a sophomore.
She transferred to Florida State for her junior season and led the Seminoles to an undefeated season and a National Championship in 2023. She earned second team All-American honors that season. She finished her career at Florida State with 17 goals and 16 assists in 38 matches.
At Madison, Huff compiled a very long list of accomplishments. In each of her four years of high school soccer from 2017-2020, Huff received All-America honors, All-Region honors, first-team All-Ohio, Division II District Player of the Year, first-team all-district, Ohio Cardinal Conference Offensive Player of the Year, first-team All-OCC and Mansfield News Journal Player of the Year honors.
As a freshman in 2017, she helped her team reach the state final four for the first time in program history. In 2019, she led the Rams to the state championship game where they finished as runners-up. That season, she earned Division II Player of the Year honors.
Then came the most special year in Madison history. Huff led the Rams to their first state championship in program history while earning her second Division II Player of the Year award. She also earned Ohio Ms. Soccer, Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year, United Soccer Coaches National Player of the Year and United Soccer Coaches Scholar National Player of the Year. She led the Rams to a 21-0-3 record.
She scored 133 career goals and handed out a state-record 93 assists in four years and ended her high school career as a 4.0 student and class valedictorian.
She was also invited to the US Women’s National Team Futures Camp from Jan. 14-21 as she takes the next steps towards playing for the USWNT. In 2020, she joined the U-20 national team and was selected for the U-23 team in 2023 making on appearance against France.
