Hallsville placed fourth over the weekend in the Pine Tree Invitational Showcase.
Host Pine Tree finished second in the tournament with 21 points, one point behind Athens. The remaining standings included Pittsburg in third, followed by Hallsville, North Lamar, Pleasant Grove, Paris, Van, Episcopal School of Dallas, Carthage, Grace Community, Chapel Hill and Texas High.
Pine Tree won the JV division with 24 points.
Axel Alvarado had three goals, Chris Resendiz and Jacyr Rivera two each and Martin Medrano, Julian Ibarra and Alex Mireles one each for the Pirates during the tournament.
Mireles had two assists, with Pedro Jimenez and Rivera adding one each. Oscar Madrid worked one shutout in goal for the Pirates.
For Hallsville, Ali Al-Mayahi had two goals, and Oliver Dilday, David Ovide, Ty Gustavsen and Alex Guerro had one each, with Guerrero and Ovide adding two assists apiece.
For Pittsburg, Uriel Nieto had two goals, and Alan Ramirez, Itzael Falcon, Ethan de la Cruz, Michael Trejo and Ethan Santiago all had one goal.
All-Tournament picks included Axel Alvardo, Chris Resendiz and Martin Medrano of Pine Tree, Eric Anaya Rojas, Derek Inestroza, Irvin Melgarejo and Shelby Akins of Athens, Michael Trejo, Alan Ramirez and Brian Rojas of Pittsburg, Oliver Dilday and Max Carlisle of Hallsville, Tyler Silva and Luis Morales of North Lamar, James Solomon and Silas Yowell of Pleasant Grove, Chris Garcia and Yeshua Gonzalez of Paris, Jake Jones of Grace, Xavi Mundo of Chapel Hill and Cade Burnett of Texas High.
The Golden Ball Award (best player) went to Irvin Malgarejo of Athens. The Golden Boot Award (highest scorer) went to James Solomon of Pleasant Grove, and the Golden Glove Award (most shutouts) went to Jeremias Flores of Pittsburg and Jorge Lopez of Paris.
