Nigeria women’s U-19 cricket team coach Sarah Bhakita has set a semi-final target for the team at the 2025 ICC Women’s U-19 World Cup in Malaysia.
Bhakita qualified the team for the competition by picking up only slot for Africa in the qualifiers in Rwanda.

The Junior Female Yellow Greens are currently perfecting their preparations in India before travelling to Malaysia for their final warm up clashes against Pakistan and Scotland.
Bkahita revealed that she is impressed with the team’s preparation ahead of the competition.
She said: “I can say the preparations have been going on well. We haven’t stopped since we qualified and at some point, it was a bit too much for the girls and we had some rest and started again in November.
“We are going to meet experts so I feel like what we are going to do in India is just fine-tuning because we have done most of the work in Nigeria. Just to add a few things and how to go about our weaknesses.

“My target is to get to the semi-finals at least.
“We have quality players with resilience, resolve and ambition. So, that is not out of our range. We have been able to study our opponents and no team is unbeatable.”
Nigeria will take on Samoa, South Africa and New Zealand in the group stage.
The Nigeria Cricket Federation named a strong 15-player squad for the 2025 ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup in December.
The team’s captain, Lucky Piety will lead 14 other players to the tournament alongside the likes of Shola Adekunle, Peculiar Agboya, Anointed Aikigbe, Lillian Ude, and Christabel Chukwuonye.
