A starter for much of the 2023 season, Omarion Cooper got lost in the shuffle this spring.
Now, he’s looking for a new home.
On Monday, the senior defensive back put his name into the NCAA transfer portal, as did walk-on receiver Kendal Stewart.
Cooper transferred to CU last year after playing two seasons at Florida State. For the Buffs, he played in nine games, with eight starts, but missed the final three games. He finished with 37 tackles, two tackles for loss and five pass breakups, which tied for the team lead with Travis Hunter.
Cooper was also a part-time starter at Florida State during his two seasons with the Seminoles.
In the offseason, CU added several players at cornerback and Cooper shifted to safety. He played a backup role at safety this spring.
Stewart joined the Buffs last season as a true freshman and redshirted. He did not see any game action with the Buffs. The 5-foot-10, 175-pounder had 1,238 receiving yards during his career at Foster (Tex.) High School.
