A new era of college football begins this weekend.
The Texas Longhorns host the Clemson Tigers on Saturday in the first round of the expanded College Football Playoff.
The new playoff bracket features 12 teams, expanded from the four teams that had qualified over the past decade.
There are four first-round games this weekend.
The Longhorns (11-2) are the No. 5 seed in the tournament, while the ACC champion Tigers (10-3) are the No. 12 seed. The winner of Saturday’s game advances to the quarterfinals to play fourth-seeded Arizona State in the Peach Bowl on Jan. 1.
