HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – University of Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan was named the 2024 Polynesian College Football Player of the Year on Thursday.
The Wildcat is of Hawaiian ancestry and grew up in Waimanalo before attending high school in California.
McMillan had a standout prep career with Servite where he earned a spot in the Polynesian Bowl and named Polynesian High School Player of the year in 2021.
The wideout hauled in 84 catches for over 13 hundred yards, earning All-big 12 honors and a consensus All-American nod, while also holding the school record for career receiving yards.
“God has blessed me with many gifts, talents, and opportunities, and I hope to use those to inspire others,” McMillan said in a statement. “For the Polynesian players who came before me, you guys have laid the foundation and set the for me and future generations, I am a product of all who came before me, my ancestors have paved the way for me to be successful today.”
McMillan is now set to enter the NFL Draft where he is expected to be a first round pick.
He will be officially honored during enshrinement weekend during the 2025 Polynesian Bowl which is set for January 17th.
