Big goals remain for Kansas City for 2026 FIFA World Cup preparations – KMBC Kansas City

Kansas City is gearing up for the FIFA World Cup which is set to arrive in the summer of 2026.
Crews are currently working on various projects throughout the city to ensure they are completed in time.
The work on the streetcar line on Main Street has been underway for quite some time, and the expansion is getting even closer to being finished.
According to the KC Streetcar Director, 70 percent of the track has been laid, and the plan is to complete the project by 2025, connecting UMKC to the riverfront.
The crews are working tirelessly to finish the project well before the World Cup arrives.
