AHSAA soccer: Class 6A state playoffs set to begin Thursday, Friday – AL.com

The Alabama High School Athletic Association soccer playoffs begin on Thursday as the classification with the most teams – Class 6A – takes to the pitch.
Defending girls state champion and current No. 2 Homewood will host Pell City on Friday at 5 p.m. Homewood carries a 13-8-1 record into the match with Pell City at 13-7. Top-ranked Mountain Brook (10-3-4) hosts Parker (3-4-2) on Thursday at 5.
Fort Payne, the defending boys champion, will host Cullman on Saturday at 7 p.m. The Wildcats are 10-12 this season while Cullman is 11-7-2. Homewood is ranked No. 1 on the boys’ side at 17-2-3. The Patriots boys will also host Pell City (19-4-2) on Friday at 7 p.m.
The rest of the classifications will begin first-round play on Monday and Tuesday. The schedule for the complete field for Class 1A/3A, Class 4A, Class 5A and Class 7A is not yet confirmed.
