The Indian Premiere League (IPL) season is currently underway and like always, the cricket festival has entire India hooked to their screens. It’s only fitting that during this euphoria a user on Reddit posted a pic of an old cricket bat signed by the entire 83 Indian team that lifted the World Cup for the very first time.
In the viral post, the Redditor described that he found this bat while cleaning the old stuff. He further mentioned that he won the bat by collecting thums-up bottle caps. In the post, the bat features a logo of Thums Up on one side and on the other, it has signatures of India’s 1983 World Cup team. The caption of the post reads, “We found this old bat that belongs to my dad while clearing out old stuff. He says he won this by collecting Thums Up bottle caps.” The post was shared by a Reddit user named @batmantheedarkknight.

The post was shared a day ago and since then it has accumulated thousands of likes. The post prompted a plethora of reactions from the community.
“Does it shoot electric sparks when you say “chain kulii ki main kulii?” a user asked. “Now there is my nostalgia, damn we are getting old,” expressed a second user. “This is not a signed bat, but a replica of team signatures laminated on the bat. I think the bat user knew it and that’s the reason he used this bat for daily playing instead of preserving it,” speculated a third user. “Priceless and a great memento to have,” mentioned a fourth.
