Are you ready for some football?
Monday night’s matchup between the Browns and Broncos might be the furthest thing from a party in Week 13, but Jameis Winston has always been known to provide the fans with plenty of reasons to smile. Coming off a snow game win in Week 12, the Browns are back in primetime again, which might have fans making other plans as the holiday season ramps up.
No matter your feelings on the seemingly underwhelming matchup, the Broncos are worth checking out in their second primetime matchup of the season. Bo Nix is making his case for Rookie of the Year, as his team hasn’t stopped surprising doubters.
Denver continues their march to the playoffs, welcoming Cleveland a mile high for a battle under the lights. Here’s everything to know about “Monday Night Football” in Week 13.
NFL STATS CENTRAL: The latest NFL scores, schedules, odds, stats and more.
The Browns enter with a record of 3-8, a long way from being in the playoff picture. A win over the rival Steelers hurt their draft positioning in Week 12, dropping them almost out of the top-10. If they can start a winning streak in Denver, that won’t bode well for Cleveland fans with an eye toward the offseason.
Winston’s always-entertaining style of play is reason enough to watch, and Nick Chubb’s return to form in the running game makes Cleveland a potentially frisky underdog.
However, Denver will be ready for them, with every game being a big one for their playoff hopes at 7-5. While they appear to be in control now, any slip-up will welcome a couple of teams back into the hunt in the AFC playoff picture. Nix’s rise has been meteoric, from draft afterthought to Rookie of the Year contender.
Many questioned the Broncos’ decision to draft him with the No. 12 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, but he’s done nothing but silence them since. Sean Payton’s team doesn’t boast the biggest names and, on paper, doesn’t look like a team that should have a winning record. That’s why they play the games and these Broncos are delivering the goods on game day.
