The Super Eagles of Nigeria have dropped eight places in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday following their poor performances in the last international window.
Nigeria failed to win their last two matches of the African Nations Cup qualifiers despite booking their place in the competition with two games to spare.

The Augustine Eguavoen-led side played out a 1-1 draw against Benin Republic before a shambolic 2-1 loss to Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
FIFA announced the latest rankings on their website on Thursday, and it does make good reading for football lovers in Nigeria.

The Super Eagles moved from the 36th position to occupy the 44th position in the world rankings, while also dropping from fourth to fifth in Africa.
Morocco maintained the top position in Africa, followed by Senegal, Algeria and Egypt in second, third and fourth positions, respectively.

In the world rankings, Argentina maintained top spot, followed by France in second and Spain in third. England and Brazil occupy fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
The Super Eagles will be back in action in March with two World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda, and Zimbabwe.
The team is walking on a tightrope in the World Cup qualifiers after failing to record a win in their first four matches, with three draws and one defeat to sit fifth on the log.
