Five stars primed to shine at ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier – ICC Cricket

Exclusive content, priority ticket access and personalised news. Never miss a moment!
Gaby Lewis – Ireland (ICC Batter Ranking: 24)
The classy right-hander is now considered a senior member of the Ireland team, despite being only 23 years old.
Lewis made her debut for Ireland when she was just 13, and has continued on an upward trend throughout the nine and a half years of her international career having now made more than 120 appearances for her country.
With one century and 11 half-centuries for Ireland at the T20I level, Lewis will be relied upon to provide plenty of runs for her side in Abu Dhabi and will play a crucial role in Ireland's push to earn one of two available places at this year's ICC Women's T20 World Cup.

Kelis Ndhlovu – Zimbabwe (ICC All-Rounder Ranking: 17)
Zimbabwe's rising teenage all-rounder is another prodigy to watch out for in Abu Dhabi, with the 18-year-old primed to rise on the big occasion.
While Ndhlovu is better known for her crafty left-arm orthodox bowling, the rising star is just as capable with the bat at the backend of an innings.
Ndhlovu scored her second T20I half-century against Ireland earlier this year when compiling a quickfire 52 in Harare and recently scored a valuable 35 during Zimbabwe's impressive victory over PNG.

Chamari Athapaththu – Sri Lanka (ICC Batter Ranking: equal 7th)
Easily the most decorated player at the event, Athapaththu is sure to be among the runs and wickets given her impressive resume till date.
The Sri Lanka captain has played over 200 white-ball matches for her country, with over 6000 runs and 70 wickets from these contests. The prolific batter is Sri Lanka's highest run-getter in ODI and T20I formats.
Athapaththu will be relied upon for runs at the top of Sri Lanka's batting order and will be keen to make sure she pilots her team into the tournament in Bangladesh later this year courtesy of a top-two finish in Abu Dhabi.

Kathryn Bryce – Scotland (ICC All-Rounder Ranking: 11)
The Scotland captain is somewhat of a quiet achiever in international cricket, but a look at her stats shows there is no doubting her class.
Not many all-rounders in international cricket – both men's and women's – can boast a batting average greater than 35 and a bowling average of almost 15, but that's exactly what Bryce has produced in her 40 matches of T20I cricket.
Bryce is sure to cause opposition batters plenty of problems with her ability to extract swing with the new ball, while the 26-year-old is just as adept with the bat alongside sister Sarah in a strong Scottish batting order.

Nattaya Boochatham – Thailand (ICC All-Rounder Ranking: 19)
The Thailand veteran is an important contributor with both bat and ball and will be relied on heavily by the Asian side in Abu Dhabi.
Expect Boochatham to feature prominently in a variety of roles at the event, with the experienced off-spinner equally adept bowling with the new ball as she is at the death.
The 37-year-old has produced her best performances with the bat when used near the top of the batting order and we may see the left-hander take her usual pinch-hitting role at that position.
