Ryan Mathis spearheaded Fairport’s 11-win regular season. Bailey Connor led Irondequoit to eight regular-season victories. Mason Simmons helped Churchville Chili to first place in Class AA. Colden Forney paced a Mendon squad that surrendered just one regular season game. Will Hawken and Brockport didn’t lose until the final game of the regular season on Oct. 18th. The quintet took home Divisional Player of the Year honors as announced by Monroe County coaches.
Mathis – Division I Player of the Year – managed an 18-goal, nine-assist season to lead the Red Raiders. The senior forward had five goals in two regular-season wins against Victor.
Fairport finished 15-0-4 with a 2-1 overtime defeat of Shaker in the Class AAA state title game. Mathis scored three goals in two sectionals wins before assisting on the golden goal that sealed the state championship. The undefeated record and state title served as the first in the history of the Red Raiders boys soccer program.
Three Red Raiders join Mathis on the Division One All-County First Team. Penfield’s three representatives are second most behind Fairport while Webster Schroeder, Hilton and Rush-Henrietta have two representatives a piece. One Victor player makes the team. Beyond Mathis, the group is rounded out by Ian Allen (Rush-Henrietta), Sam Burton (Webster Schroeder), Zachary Buys (Fairport), Brayden Chase (Webster Schroeder), Alexander Grejda (Fairport), Jordan Johnson (Hilton), Jackson Kuby (Penfield), Ryder Lucas (Penfield), Nate MacBride (Victor), Marlo Rogers-Collier (Rush-Henrietta), Austin Stephany (Fairport), Jack Turner (Hilton) and Mason Vallow (Penfield).

Connor – a Division II Co-Player of the Year – notched 10 goals and 10 assists for the Eagles. The senior midfielder/forward scored both goals in a 2-1 win over Brighton with two more contributed when Irondequoit downed Gates Chili 6-3.
Simmons – a Division II Co-Player of the Year – led Monroe County in goals against average (.45) and helped the Saints pitch five shutouts. The junior goalkeeper made 76 saves allowing only eight goals across 1,412 minutes.
Churchville Chili and Spencerport produced three Division Two First Team All-County players each. Two players from each of Brighton, Gates Chili, Irondequoit and Webster Thomas complete the lineup. On top of Connor and Simmons, Isaac Bailey (Churchville Chili), Alessandro Bosa (Brighton), Tommy DiMaggio (Gates Chili), Colin Gulifoyle (Churchville Chili), Evan Green (Irondequoit), Juan Green Jordan (Spencerport), Nathaniel Jones (Irondequoit), Chris Keller (Churchville Chili), Cameron Khuns (Spencerport), Vlad Lavrynenko (Webster Thomas), Peter Odhiambo (Brighton) and Mike Tette (Spencerport) made the cut.


Forney – Division III Player of the Year – tallied six assists as a defender for the Vikings. The senior recorded helpers in three of the Vikings’ first four games – all wins. Forney helped Mendon win their final 10 regular-season contests.
Forney is one of four Vikings on the Division Three All-County First Team. Pittsford Sutherland and Greece Arcadia contribute three players to the roster each. Two Greece Athena players take the final two spots. Accompanying Forney are Kasey Conrow (Greece Arcadia), Danny DiBiase (Pittsford Mendon), Sam Fagan (Pittsford Sutherland), Lucas Martin (Pittsford Sutherland), Brandon Owens (Greece Arcadia), Chase Paddock (Greece Athena), George Romansky (Greece Arcadia), Ryan Schumacher (Greece Athena), Max Tagliarino (Pittsford Mendon), Ethan Westervelt (Pittsford Mendon) and Jack Woods (Pittsford Sutherland).


Hawken finished with 27 goals and 10 assists during the regular season including hat tricks against Greece Olympia and Greece Arcadia. The Monroe County Division IV Player of the Year also posted braces against Batavia (twice) Eastridge, Canandaigua and Greece Athena. The senior forward helped the Blue Devils to their first sectional title since 2017 and eventual appearance in the NYSPHSAA Class A semifinals.
Hawken had three Blue Devil teammates on the Division IV All-County First Team alongside him – Brockport’s four representatives is the highest count on the team. Greece Olympia trails it with three players while Eastridge and Honeoye Falls-Lima are represented twice. One Batavia athlete is the twelfth member. With Hawken, Avery Bickham (Eastridge), Gage Carlenius (Greece Olympia), Eli Cleveland (HF-L), Arnanh Douangdala (Greece Olympia), Aiden Fitzpatrick (Brockport), Troy Hawley (Batavia), Allandiguim (Obe) Kagde (Greece Olympia), Andrew Lennartz (Brockport), Brandon Pritchard (HF-L), Cash Rosado (Brockport) and Ethan Smith (Eastridge).
