Nepal achieved its first win in the ongoing Blind Cricket World Cup in Pakistan, defeating Afghanistan by 108 runs in its third match on Monday.
Chasing a target of 229 runs set by Nepal, Afghanistan managed to score only 120 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. Abasin Selab was the top scorer for Afghanistan with 53 runs.
Nepal’s Sunil Magar delivered an exceptional bowling performance, taking three wickets for 18 runs in four overs. Bharat Thapa, Sunil Kshetri, and Amish Guragain each took one wicket.
Earlier, after losing the toss and being invited to bat, Nepal posted 228 runs for the loss of two wickets in 20 overs. Padam Badailla remained unbeaten with a spectacular 92 runs off 51 balls, while Naresh Chaudhary contributed 72 runs off 62 balls.
Nepal had lost its first two matches against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The team is set to play against South Africa tomorrow, aiming for a win to secure a spot in the semifinals.
