Buckwitz, Nolte/Kluwig, Ammour/Stadelmann and Team Ammour German Champions
Altenberg (RWH) The German bobsleigh head coach René Spies has named the pilots who will compete in the IBSF World Cup 2024/25 over the next three and a half months. This was announced by the German Bobsleigh and Luge Federation in a press release. The World Cup in Altenberg (GER, 6-8 December) marks the start of the season in the race series.
The teams of World Cup title defender Laura Nolte, World Champion Lisa Buckwitz and overall World Cup runner-up Kim Kalicki were already set for the 2-woman bobsleigh. In the 2-man bobsleigh, the teams of World Champion Francesco Friedrich, Vice World Champion Johannes Lochner and European Champion Adam Ammour were set before the selections for the German World Cup team. Kim Kalicki secured the third Monobob World Cup spot alongside Nolte and Buckwitz and will start in the first five Monobob World Cups. If the results are good, she will remain in the World Cup. Otherwise, Maureen Zimmer will have the chance to move up. In the 4-man bobsleigh, in addition to the seeded teams of Friedrich and Lochner, pilot Adam Ammour and his push crew have qualified for the entire World Cup season with two selection victories.
The final selection race in Altenberg was also held as a race-in-race event and counted as the German Championships. The titles went to Lisa Buckwitz (monobob), Laura Nolte and Leonie Kluwig (2-woman bobsleigh), Adam Ammour and Nick Stadelmann (2-man bobsleigh) and Adam Ammour, Issam Ammour, Benedikt Hertel and Rupert Schenk (4-man bobsleigh).
