Benjamin Pavard feels that Inter Milan are a “fantastic club” and that he still has more trophies to win in his career.
The 29-year-old spoke to French broadcaster Telefoot, via FCInterNews.
Pavard is now in the middle of his second season as an Inter player.
The Frenchman joined the Nerazzurri from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023.
Inter spent big to bring Pavard in. They made the former Stuttgart and Lille defender the replacement for Milan Skriniar on the right side of their back three.
The right of the back three is the ideal position for Pavard’s style of play.
The Frenchman is versatile enough to play either as a right-back or in the middle of a back four defense.
The right of Inter’s back three essentially allows Pavard to play somewhere between those two roles.
Pavard’s pace, tackling ability, and reading of the game come in handy as he has plenty of defending to do around his own penalty area.
And in possession, Pavard’s technical ability and range of passing make him a key cog at the start of the team’s buildup phase.
However, the former Bayern defender also has the license to get forward. He can make dangerous attacking runs either down the flank or in the channel.
Pavard provides plenty of dangerous passes and crosses in the final third.
Pavard said that he’s “very happy” to be where he is.
“I’m in a beautiful city in Milan, and at a fantastic club at Inter,” the French international said.
“I chose to join Inter to win the Scudetto,” Pavard continued. “And to wear the second star on my chest.”
“Now the most difficult thing in football will be to win it again,” the 29-year-old said.
“Obviously we want to fight to win as many trophies as possible.”
Of his relationship with the Inter fans, Pavard said that “I think they love me because I honour the shirt every match.”
“I always give everything,” the Frenchman continued. “That’s why they appreciate me,”
Pavard then admitted that “If you’d told me that at 28 I’d have won all these trophies, I wouldn’t have believed it.”
“But I think I inherited a ‘never give up’ attitude from my father,” the Inter defender continued.
“I always set goals. And I do everything I can to achieve them.”
“There are still things left for me to win,” Pavard said. “I hope I can do so.”
