The defender has been out since July
Barcelona are reportedly set to receive around €3 million in compensation from FIFA for defender Ronald Araujo’s latest injury.
The defender suffered a hamstring injury on international duty with Uruguay at the Copa America all the way back in July.
Araujo subsequently had to undergo surgery and is yet to return to action for Barcelona, although he is closing in on a comeback.
Mundo Deportivo have an update on the situation and say that Araujo could return in mid-December which would be around 162 days since he picked up the problem.
All of which would mean that FIFA would have to pay Barcelona a total amount of €2,753,432 in compensation for Araujo’s injury.
Barcelona have collected a significant sum in compensation recently after losing both Gavi and Pedri for long spells after playing with Spain.
MD report that Barca will receive a total amount of almost €10m for the three players. It’s some consolation at least but doesn’t really make up for the time they have lost.
