COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Following a successful 19-0-1 season, the Columbus State Women’s Soccer Team gears up to host postseason play.
The team found out Monday night, that they claimed the number one seed in the Southeast Regionals NCAA DII Women’s Soccer Championship Tournament.
The #1 Cougars will play the #8 Francis Marion Patriots this Friday at 3 p.m. at the Walden Soccer Complex.
Fourth-seeded Catawba College (10-2-5) will face fifth-seeded Flagler College (8-3-6) at noon in Friday’s opening contest. The two winners will meet at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
According to reports, the two finalists in each region will advance to the third-round competition, which will be played Sunday, Dec. 1. Regional champions will meet in the quarterfinal round, which will be played Saturday, Dec. 7. The semifinal and championship games will take place December 13 and 15 at Sportsplex at Matthews in Matthews, N.C.
