A 15-year-old student and football player at Mountain Pointe High School was stabbed and killed. The community is mourning the loss of the teenager. FOX 10’s Nicole Krasean has the story.
PHOENIX – The Ahwatukee community is in mourning tonight after a local high school student and football player was stabbed in a neighborhood early Saturday morning.
He later died from his injuries.
As several young people gathered for a vigil for 15-year-old Jaylen Reeves, Phoenix Police are investigating the stabbing.

Reeves was a sophomore at Mountain Pointe High School and was also on the football team. People we spoke with off camera say he was a sweet kid, made friends with new students at school and was a promising athlete.
Phoenix Police say he was stabbed in a confrontation between two groups of kids. They do not have anyone in custody.
Phoenix police say they were called out just after 3:00 a.m. on Saturday to the area of East Lakewood Parkway in Ahwatukee for a report of a fight between two groups of kids.
That's where they found Reeves, suffering from a severe stab wound.
