Ohio State men’s soccer secured its first Big Ten Tournament title in 15 years with a win over its rivals.
The top-seeded Buckeyes defended their home field at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium and won their first Big Ten Tournament championship since 2009 by defeating Michigan, 1-0, in Sunday’s Big Ten Tournament championship game.
Neither team scored for the game’s first 72 minutes until Parker Grinstead – who also scored the Buckeyes’ first two goals in their Big Ten Tournament semifinal win over Washington – put the home team on the board.

That would be the only goal the Buckeyes would need as Ohio State shut out its rival to secure the conference crown.
A crowd of 8,938 people attended the match, breaking the program’s attendance record for a game at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.

Ohio State men’s soccer has now won four Big Ten Tournament championships in program history, having also won the conference tournament in 2000 and 2007. The Buckeyes also earned a share of the Big Ten regular-season championship, splitting that title with Indiana for their first conference title of any kind since 2015.
