Story in short: Joe Birnbaum is a staple on the Truckee offense and has been since his junior campaign. As a junior, he racked up 32 touchdowns and helped propel the Wolverines to their second straight state title. This season, Birnbaum suffered an ankle injury early in the season. He underwent surgery and returned to action just in time for the postseason. In his return, Birnbaum rushed for three touchdowns in the regional semifinal game against Spring Creek.
