Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday highlighted efforts the Georgian Government had taken to promote football in the country with Gianni Infantino, the President of the International Association Football Federation, the Government Administration said.
The officials also discussed future plans along with construction of a new, 70,000-capacity stadium in the capital city of Tbilisi  and the country’s application to host the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in 2029.
The visiting official also inspected the infrastructure  being built through FIFA co-financing.
The Administration said Infantino also presented a symbolic gift of a FIFA shirt to the head of the Government.
Kakha Kaladze, a former player and current Mayor of Tbilisi, and Levan Kobiashvili, the President of Georgian Football Federation, also attended the meeting.
Gianni Infantino, the President of the International Association Football Federation, and high-ranking FIFA officials visiting the country on Wednesday inspected ongoing football infrastructure projects co-financed by a FIFA programme.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday said Georgia’s capital Tbilisi needed a new, 70,000-capacity stadium to host top-level games including the UEFA Champions League final. 
Gianni Infantino, the President of the International Association Football Federation, will visit Georgia on Wednesday to meet officials from the country’s Football Federation and tour infrastructure, the Georgian Football Federation said.
A 70,000-capacity football stadium will be built in Georgia’s capital city of Tbilisi with a goal of the venue hosting the 2028 final of the UEFA Champions League, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced on Monday.
