BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater native Kai Liu achieved a podium finish in the Women’s Epee this weekend at the Fujairah World Cup.
Team USA secured bronze in the 2024-25 Fujairah Women’s Team Epee World Cup semifinals where the team defeated China 45 to 38.
The Fujairah World Cup is fencing’s first major tournament of the season that sets the stage for international fencing rankings.
Liu earned bronze with the Women’s Senior Epee team, making the podium and kicking off what promises to be an exciting international fencing season.
As a Princeton University alumna, Liu finished second at the 2016 NCAA Championships, was first at the 2017 Mid-Atlantic Regionals, and earned All-America and First Team All-Ivy recognition.
They helped lead Princeton to two Ivy League championships. Prior to Princeton, Liu was a member of the 2014 USA Cadet world team, which finished 10th at the World Championships. Liu is currently an assistant coach for Women’s Fencing at Yale University.
