The No. 16 Tigers (6-2, 3-1 SEC) are one loss away from likely elimination from contention in the 12-team College Football Playoffs. A Week 10 bye week is a perfect time for LSU to get itself right as it looks to bounce back from its second loss of the season.
The Tigers likely need to win out to have any hope of reaching the SEC championship game.

LSU’s most challenging test for the rest of the season comes right off the heels of its bye week, with a Week 11 matchup against No. 14 Alabama in Baton Rouge. Both the Tigers and Crimson Tide will enter the matchup with two losses, with another loss likely enough to completely eliminate them from playoff contention.
Here’s what you need to know about the Tigers’ remaining schedule:
No. LSU is on its second of two bye weeks during the 2024 college football season in Week 10. The Tigers’ first bye week came on Oct. 5, preceding a victory over No. 8 Ole Miss in overtime.
LSU returns to action in Week 11 when it hosts No. 14 Alabama in a game that could serve as an elimination game for the College Football Playoff. The following week, LSU travels to Gainesville, Florida, to take on Florida. The Tigers close their season with four straight games, including finishing the season vs. SEC newcomer Oklahoma instead of its usual Thanksgiving matchup for the last decade against Texas A&M.
