After 7 seasons Larry Williams is not returning as head coach of the Hinds CC Eagles after stepping down
After almost two decades in the Hinds Community College football program Larry Williams has stepped down as the head coach after 7 seasons.
Williams became the head coach in 2017 taking over for the legendary Gene Murphy.
Williams, a former Mississippi State Bulldog, was the defensive coordinator in 2013 before becoming the head coach. He also was on the Hinds staff from 2003 to 2009.
The Eagles went 35-32 overall and 22-18 in conference games in his tenure including a pair of playoff berths and a trip to the Salt City Bowl in 2021 when the Eagles won 9 games-his best season.
The Eagles finished 2-7 this season and Hinds CC is conducting a national search for their next head coach.
