Only six overs could be bowled in the Nepal innings, in which they scored 26 runs for the loss of one wicket, but the heavens opened up and play had to be stopped. Play did resume once in between, and the match was truncated to 43 overs a side, but the returning rain meant no more play was possible and the match had to be abandoned. The teams thus got one point apiece.
This was the final game in the Dallas leg of the league. The Al Amerat leg is already underway, with hosts UAE, Oman and Netherlands in contention there.
Earlier, Nepal captain Rohit Paudel lost the toss and was made to bat first by his Scotland counterpart Richie Berrington in the 44th match of ICC Cricket World Cup League Two.
