Friday Night Football 2024 Week 10 Player of the Week nominees – WTVY

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) – Week 10 of high school football is in the books.
Several Wiregrass area athletes showed out in the final week of the 2024 regular season, some hoping to end the year on a high note while others prepare for the path to a state title. Only four can get the nod as our nominees for News4 Friday Night Football Week 10 Player of the Week.
Here’s a look at this week’s nominees:
Brayden Benbow, RB/LB, Zion Chapel. Benbow was a major offensive contributor for the Rebels during their 43-14 win over Pleasant Home, rushing for 92 yards and 2 touchdown on 13 carries while adding 4 receptions for 49 yards and a 2-point conversion.
Deyshaun Wynn, RB/LB, Houston County. Wynn helped the Lions on both sides of the ball, rushing for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns while accounting for 3 tackles and a fumble recovery on defense, as Houston County went on to win a border battle showdown with FAMU DRS 46-16.
Brendan Hall, RB/DB, Geneva County. It was a historic night for Hall, as alongside his 220 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground to help the Bulldogs finish the season with a 62-38 win over Slocomb, the senior broke the school single season record for rushing yards (2,195 yards) that was set back in 1999 by his father Andre Golson.
Payton Howerton, RB/LB, Samson. Howerton was able to pull in a big 50-yard reception for the Tigers to go along with his 14 rushes for 100 yards and a touchdown on the ground as Samson grabbed their first non-forfeit win of the season 31-21 over Northside Methodist.
