Iniesta : 2030 World Cup poised for success across three host nations – Yabiladi in English

Andrés Iniesta, ambassador for Spain, Morocco, and Portugal’s bid to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup, has expressed his excitement about this ground-breaking event, which will be the first intercontinental World Cup, enriching the cultural diversity of all three host countries. In a recent interview with Cadena SER, the former Spanish footballer and two-time world champion praised the upcoming tournament, calling it a celebration of football as a «sport for everyone».
Iniesta emphasized that the event could mark an «important turning point» for soccer as a truly «global sport», energized by the unique features envisioned for the 2030 World Cup. Having experienced the 1982 World Cup in Spain, Iniesta understands the significant impact and benefits such a tournament brings to host countries. «The scope and potential of this bid are even greater», says the former player, who now works as a coach.
In other words, Andrés Iniesta envisions a World Cup in 2030 that will «bring cultures together while celebrating the sport that unites people». He adds that Spain, Morocco, and Portugal share a «common passion» for soccer and are connected by modern transport networks, facilitating travel for fans between stadiums.
Iniesta also highlighted several technical advantages that would ensure «exceptional worldwide coverage». With the three countries’ «ideal time zone», he noted, the World Cup would enable «optimal broadcasting«to audiences across Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas.
