ESPN predicts the final four games of FSU football's schedule – FSU Wire

Following a 36-14 loss to Miami, the Florida State Seminoles (1-7, 1-6 ACC) have just four games left in the 2024 college football season. This will be the definitive end to the season, as with the loss to the Hurricanes, Florida State has been eliminated from bowl eligibility.
Among the four games left for Mike Norvell’s team will be its final ACC matchup up in a game against the North Carolina Tar Heels, a trip to South Bend to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and the Sunshine Showdown as the Seminoles host the Florida Gators.
No one could have seen the 2024 season going the way that it has for FSU, and the rest of the season seems rather bleak. Major injuries and poor offensive performances have led to the worst season for the Seminoles under Norvell and in recent history.
With just four games remaining, the season has now become about how Florida State can build for next season. These last few games will likely play a large part in who will be leading this team in 2025, and who decides to stick around.
Here is how ESPN is predicting those final games on the Seminoles’ schedule to go.

ESPN Prediction: North Carolina (52.8%)
ESPN has flipped on this one, as the Seminoles were predicted to win just a week ago. However, following the poor offensive performance and defensive struggles against Miami, ESPN is now leaning toward the Tar Heels.
FSU’s Record: 1-8 (1-7 ACC)

ESPN Prediction: Notre Dame (95.8%)
Even heading into the season, this one was likely never going to be in Florida State’s favor. This is a talented Fighting Irish squad led by Riley Leonard, the former Duke Blue Devils quarterback. To add on to that, there might be no harder place to play than South Bend, meaning the Seminoles are in for a tough one.
FSU’s Record: 1-9 (1-7 ACC)

James Guillory-USA TODAY Sports
ESPN Prediction: Florida State (98.6%)
Spoiler alert, this is the only game left on the schedule that the Seminoles are predicted to win. Not only is winning this game important to save embarrassment, but this game will do a lot for next year. Once the Seminoles get a comfortable lead, it is time to put in the younger guys and see who shows potential for 2025.
FSU’s Record: 2-9 (1-7 ACC)

ESPN Prediction: Florida (73.4%)
While the Seminoles are not favored in this one, it is a rivalry game so anything can happen. I like Florida State in this one, as the Gators will be finishing a gauntlet of three ranked SEC opponents before coming to Tallahassee. However, Florida has shown great improvement throughout the season, something FSU has not done.
FSU’s Record: 2-10 (1-7 ACC)
