Wingback Denzel Dumfries is happy at Inter Milan, but still “dreams” of a move to a club in the Premier League.
This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews. The outlet report that the Nerazzurri value Dumfries at around €25-30 million.
At the moment, Dumfries is under contract with Inter until the end of June 2025.
The former PSV player is still on the same deal that he signed when he joined in the summer of 2021.
However, the Nerazzurri will certainly not want to see the 27-year-old head into the final season of his deal without signing an extension.
This would lead to the risk of Dumfries leaving on a free transfer when his contract expires.
Therefore, Inter’s intention is clear. Either Dumfries puts pen to paper on a new deal, or they will aim to sell the player this summer.
The Nerazzurri would want around €25-30 million for the Dutchman.
According to FCIN, Dumfries would be in no rush to leave Inter.
The Dutchman is happy at the Nerazzurri, and in the city of Milan.
However, that does not mean that Dumfries would not consider offers from other clubs – and in particular from the Premier League.
FCIN report that Dumfries has not hidden the fact that it is a “dream” for him to play in the English top flight.
The 27-year-old would particularly like to play for one of the Premier League’s top sides.
Therefore, Dumfries would consider any offers that come from England. However, if clubs from outside the top handful of clubs were to make an offer, there would be no guarantee of the player accepting a move.
In any event, FCIN report, Inter will hold the decisive talks regarding Dumfries’s contract by the end of this month.
And these will have a huge role in determining the player’s future.
