Springfield, Mass. – October 28, 2024 – Springfield College’s Ian Wernik (Plymouth, Mass.) and Joe Maurer (Wilbraham, Mass.) were recognized for their outstanding efforts last weekend and earned weekly honors from the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC). Wernik was chosen as the NEWMAC Special Teams Athlete of the Week for the second time this year while Maurer was tabbed the NEWMAC Defensive Athlete of the Week following the Pride’s 31-7 victory at Salve Regina.
Springfield will host Norwich on Saturday in their regular-season home finale with a 12 pm kickoff.
