USMNT stays at No. 18 in October's FIFA Rankings – SBI Soccer – SBI Soccer

There was no movement in the U.S. men’s national team’s ranking following October’s pair of matches.
The Americans stayed at No. 18 in FIFA’s October rankings, the federation announced Thursday. Mauricio Pochettino’s squad defeated Panama 2-0 before falling 2-0 at fellow CONCACAF rivals Mexico.
Yunus Musah scored his first USMNT goal in the victory over Panama while Ricardo Pepi added a goal off the bench. Christian Pulisic continued his impactful run this fall by assisting once.
However, the Americans couldn’t find the back of the net in a road trip to Guadalajara, suffering their first loss to Mexico since 2019.
Mexico moved up to No. 16 following their pair of results (2-2 draw vs. Valencia, 2-0 win vs. USMNT) while Canada jumped up three places to No. 35. Panama, Costa Rica, and Jamaica round out CONCACAF’s top six representatives.
The Top-6 overall spots were unchanged as Argentina, France, Spain, England, and Brazil stayed in the Top Five. Belgium, Portugal, Netherlands, Italy, and Colombia rounded out the Top 10.
The USMNT’s 2024 schedule continues this November with a two-legged series against Jamaica in the CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinals. The first leg will take place in Kingston, Jamaica on Nov. 14 before the Americans host the Reggae Boyz in St. Louis, Missouri four days later.
