FIFA have released its international team rankings for October 2024, with Egypt climbing one spot to 30th place.
The Pharaohs’ rise in the rankings follows two victories in October, defeating Mauritania 2-0 at home and 1-0 away, which contributed to their upward move.
Egypt is now the third-highest-ranked team in Africa, behind Morocco in 13th place and Senegal in 20th.
Nigeria ranks fourth in Africa at 36th, while Algeria is fifth at 37th. Ivory Coast dropped seven spots to 40th, falling out of Africa’s top five.
In the Arab rankings, Egypt has moved up to second place behind Morocco. Algeria holds third at 37th, Qatar is fourth after dropping to 46th, and Tunisia rounds out the top five, despite dropping 11 places to 47th.
Globally, the top five remain unchanged. Argentina continues to lead after their Copa America win, followed by France in second, Spain in third, and England and Brazil in fourth and fifth, respectively.
The biggest mover in the FIFA rankings is Comoros, climbing 10 spots to 108th, while Tunisia experienced the largest drop, falling 11 places to 47th.
