Nine’s Wide World of Sports
Zimbabwe hit 4-344 in a T20 World Cup qualifier on Wednesday.
The insane innings set what cricket’s global governing body said was a world record international score in the format.
Zimbabwe was playing Gambia in an African sub-regional qualifier at the Ruaraka Sports Club Ground in Nairobi, Kenya.

The ICC said the total was a world record for a T20 international, eclipsing the previous high score of 3-314 set by Nepal against Mongolia in 2023.

In the same match a new record was set for most sixes by a team (27), most boundaries by a team (57), most 50-plus scores in an innings (4), most runs conceded by a bowler (93 by Musa Jorbateh), and most bowlers conceding 50+ runs in an innings (5) for men's T20 internationals.
Gambia is the smallest country in Africa and struggled to contain the Zimbabwe batters during the epic innings.
Gambia is yet to win a match in the African sub-regional qualifiers.
