Grass Valley, Calif. April 15, 2024 – Gold Country Soccer League (GCSL) is proud to unveil a dynamic lineup of programs geared towards fostering athletic excellence, competition, and personal growth for all ages and skill levels. From the opening of our highly anticipated fall recreational soccer league to competitive tryouts with Gold Country United and an exciting new summer camp partnership with Sacramento Republic FC, GCSL aims to empower athletes to reach their fullest potential.
New Partnership with Sacramento Republic FC
Gold Country Soccer has partnered with Sacramento Republic FC for a summer camp designed to introduce new skills and ignite the competitive spirit to all aspiring soccer stars aged 4-16. This collaboration represents a unique opportunity for young players to receive elite, professional-level coaching and be inspired by the staff of one of California’s premier soccer organizations. The 5-day summer camp runs June 24-28th. Parents can receive a 20 percent discount on registration through April 15th. Interested individuals are encouraged to visit the Gold Country Soccer League website, https://www.goldcountrysoccer.org/,  for more information and to secure their spot today.
Fall Recreational Registration Now Open
GCSL invites young athletes in Grass Valley and the surrounding community to kick off an action-packed fall season in our recreational league. Players from ages 4 to 17 (U6-U18) and of all skill levels are welcome to participate in a fun and supportive environment. Sibling discounts and financial aid are available to ensure that every athlete has the chance to pursue their soccer dreams. Registration closes May 31st.  Families interested in registering for the fall recreational league and adults interested in coaching can visit the Gold Country Soccer League website to sign up.
“At Gold Country Soccer, we strive to offer programs that develop not only a child’s soccer skills but offer opportunities to improve social and leadership skills too and empower kids to see soccer as a sport they can grow with and continue to play into adulthood,” said Monique Derenia, Executive Director of GCSL.
For example, players can enroll in the referee training program to become game officials as young as 13 years old.
“It not only deepens their understanding of the game but also develops important skills such as decision-making, conflict resolution, and accountability. These experiences not only bolster their resumes but also instill a sense of responsibility and confidence that will serve them well in their future endeavors,” Derenia said.
Gold Country Soccer is committed to investing in our adult leaders through coach education with our free in-house training clinics and reimbursement for completion of U.S. Soccer coaching courses. Coaches also work closely with Director of Coaching, Sean Valentine, who brings extensive soccer expertise.
Competitive Soccer Tryouts with Gold Country United
Those who aspire to elevate their game to the next level are invited to participate in Gold Country United competitive soccer tryouts May 18th and 19th. Players have the opportunity to showcase their abilities and join a community of like-minded individuals committed to playing at a higher level. Under the guidance of professional coaches players will focus on skill refinement and strategic gameplay. Interested players must sign up in advance at https://www.goldcountrysoccer.org/
Gold Country United will host a parent information meeting at 6 pm Thursday, April 25th to provide details about the tryout process, team expectations, and program benefits. The meeting will be via Zoom. Parents are encouraged to sign up on the website for ther Comp Info Night meeting.
