England and Scotland are meeting for the first time and have no previous head-to-head record to refer to.
England, wreathed in red, and Scotland, in their purple-pink, are on the field.
Sarah Bryce and Saskia Horley are currently at the crease. Charlotte Dean is now in the bowling attack.
SCO-W: 10/0 (2.4)
So far, England have taken their first and only wicket, with Saskia Horley dismissed for 13 runs off 23 balls, caught by Ecclestone off Nat Sciver-Brunt’s delivery.
The powerplay ended with a modest score of 25/0. Currently, the Bryce– Kathryn with 8 runs off 8 balls and Sarah with 27 off 29–are at the crease.
SCOW 46/1 (9.2)
In 10.4 overs, Ecclestone claims one of the Bryces, stumping Sarah for a solid 27 runs off 31 balls, including 3 fours. Ailsa Lister, a right-handed batter, now comes to the crease.
Scotland, eager to finish their season on a high after losing all three matches, might be feeling optimistic. But, England’s dream to secure a spot in the semifinals is stronger, as they continue to attack and restrict the Scots effectively.

SCO-W: 76/2 (14.3)
What we just witnessed can only be described as a collapse!
In 14.4 overs, Ailsa Lister was dismissed for 11 runs, caught by Heather Knight off Danielle Gibson.
In 15.2 overs, Lorna Jack-Brown departed for a duck in her final international match, bowled by Bell. She left the field with a smile as her friends and family applauded.
Finally, in 16.6 overs, Charlie Dean bowls out Sarah Bryce for 33 runs, completing a disappointing series of dismissals for Scotland.
SCO-W: 89/5 (17)
The Scots have posted a moderate total, which seems achievable given England’s strong batting lineup. Kathryn Bryce top-scored for Scotland with 33 runs off 27 balls.
SCO-W: 109/6 (20)
Maia Bouchier makes an explosive start in the very first over of the second innings, scoring 12 runs from three consecutive boundaries! What a batting–Bouchier currently has 13 runs off 10 balls. At the other end, Danielle Wyatt-Hodge stands at the crease.
ENG-W: 15/0 (2)
There’s nothing to worry about! Maia Bouchier and Danielle Wyatt-Hodge have taken control of the match.
Maia Bouchier brings up her fifty with 52 runs off 30 balls, including ten boundaries. Meanwhile, Danielle has smashed 37 runs off just 18 balls, featuring six fours. The partnership we’re witnessing in Sharjah is nothing short of brilliant.
England Women now need only 21 runs in 72 balls.
ENG-W: 91/0 (8.1)
What an incredible innings from the England openers, Maia Bouchier and Danielle Wyatt-Hodge! They chased down the 110-run target in just 10 overs. Unfortunately for Scotland, this means they leave the tournament winless.
SCO-W: 109/6 (20)
ENG-W: 113/0 (10)
Maia Bouchier erned the player of the match honor for her blistering 62 off 34 balls including 12 fours.
In the post match interview she said, “I felt really good, batting with Danny is always easy. We have an unspoken communication, we tried to hit straight down the gound and run between the wickets hard, which would help us win. We were told about the 8th over that we needed to get it done before the 10th over, this tournament is fine margins and the bowlers did brilliantly. Of course we want to take the trophy, but we want to think about the present and not think about what others are doing. We need to keep our calm going into the next two games. Kept saying to myself to be still and watch the ball, Danny kept reminding me too, I back myself to go and win games for my country.”
It was a rout for the Scotland women in Sharjah as England defeated them by 10 wickets, chasing down the target of 110 runs in just 10 overs almost confirming a berth in the semifinals of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. Read the full match report HERE.
