Thanks for tuning into Sportstar’s live coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifier between Chile and Brazil, which the visitor won 2-1 at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos in Santiago.
Brazil’s next World Cup qualifier is a home game against Peru on Tuesday.
With this win, Brazil now has 13 points in nine games which takes it up to fourth in the CONMEBOL Qualifying standings. Chile stays ninth with just five points.
It is an amazing come-from-behind win for Brazil. Crucial three points for Dorival Jr’s team in its qualifying campaign for FIFA World Cup 2026.
Foul on Raphinha by Tapie near the corner flag and that helps Brazil in running down the clock a bit more.
Throw-in for Chile on the right side, close to the Brazilian box.
Five minutes of stoppage time. Can Chile find the equaliser?
HENRIQUE!!!!!!! A gorgeous strike from inside the box by Luiz Henrique which may just be enough for Brazil to win this game. A left-footed shot from Henrique finds the bottom left corner of the Chilean goal.
Corner kick for Brazil, taken by Raphinha but it ends up leading to a counter-attack from Chile. However, no harm done to the Brazilian goal and it is still 1-1.
Last five minutes.

Corner kick for Chile. Palacios takes it but no clear contact from any of his teammates inside the box. Offside flag goes up.
Into the last 10 minutes of the match.

Meanwhile, Chile makes more substitutions. Williams Alarcon, Carlos Palacios and Gonzalo Tapia come on for Pavez, Vargas and Valdes.
For Brazil, Endrick replaces Jesus.
Felipe Loyola goes into referee’s book for a foul. A yellow card for Chilean.

Foul on Cepeda and Danilo receives a yellow card.
Substitution for the home team. Lucas Cepeda comes on for Victor Davila.
Rodrygo goes down after a challenge inside the Chilean box but ‘No penalty’ is the call made by the referee.
Kuscevic concedes a corner but Brazil fails to make good use of it.
Osorio steals the ball near his own box and goes off for a run down the right flank. However, he finds no support and eventually loses possession.
It could have been a second goal for Brazil but Raphinha mistimes his run and the offside flag goes up after he puts the ball in the back of the net.
Shot on target by Rodrygo from the edge of the box but the ball is easily pouched by Cortes.
Much more positive start from Brazil in the second half. A fumble from Cortes in front of the goal but luckily for him, the ball does not find a yellow shirt.
Second half gets underway. Substitutions for Brazil.
Bruno Guimaraes and Gerson come on for Andre and Paqueta.
End of first half. Brazil, after conceding an early goal, dominated the possession but it took the five-time world champion almost the entire first half to find the equaliser. An exciting second half on the cards. Stay tuned!

78 per cent possession with Brazil but still, no shots on target for the five-time world champion.
Frustrating look on the face of Brazilian coach Dorival Jr. as his team has failed to create any good chance so far. A slow start meant that it fell behind even before it could find its footing in the game.
Foul by Galdames on Savinho inside the Chilean half. Free kick to Brazil.
CLOSE!!!! Swift move by Brazil down the left flank before the cross comes in and Chile’s Maripan heads it behind for a corner. It was awfully close to being an own goal.
Brazil starting to string a few good passes but the Chilean defence stays strong and hence, no shot on target from the visitor.
Handball from Andre near the centre circle. Chance from Chile to build something from here.
A misplaced pass by Andre near his own box almost costs Brazil as the ball could have easily gone to Vargas who was lurking nearby.

A long-range effort from Osorio but it is off target and Ederson lets it go behind for a goal kick.
Two quick corner kicks for Chile. One from either side. However, no harm done to the Brazilian goal as Loyola’s attempted volley post a rebound sails way over the bar.
Pressure on Brazil straight away. A bright start for the host.
Lucas Paqueta receives a yellow card for a challenge on Osorio.
Vargas scores!!!!! First cross of the game, from the right flank by Felipe Loyola and Eduardo Vargas’ at the far post header is good enough to beat the Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson.
